three13 in northallerton
"Why sit in a classroom when your learning could help someone else?" has become a great soundbite for our approach to training in communities. Our latest project in Northallerton is no exception.
Keen to share their land for wider community benefit, New Life Baptist Church have invited us to host an accessible training opportunity for local people that will result in the creation of a family-friendly community garden.

Since the project began in November 2023, Three13 Learners have supported volunteers from the church's Eco Team to clear over 28 years of rubbish from the site and are now beginning the hard-landscaping phase of making the garden a reality.
Inspired by a similar project we delivered in Durham, the garden project offers Northallerton residents over the age of 18 the opportunity to learn new things & grow in confidence, through:

-
Hands-on learning in hard and soft landscaping, horticulture and harvesting (opportunity to gain accredited units).

-
Information, Advice and Guidance in the form of support or signposting to overcome barriers that are negatively impacting your life e.g. debt, mental health, housing issues etc.

This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
